KALEY CUOCO is on the show!!! Whaaattt???!!! Oh my gosh, I was so excited when she said she would come on the show.

I’m lucky enough to call Kaley a friend and I have to say she is one of the most loyal, kind-hearted and generous people I have ever met.

She really needs no introduction but Kaley, is an actor and producer. In the late 90’s, she landed her breakthrough role as Bridget Hennessy on the sitcom 8 Simple Rules but she is best known for playing Penny for 12 seasons on the mega-hit TV show The Big Bang Theory, which is the longest running sitcom in U.S. history.

Since Big Bang ended last year she started her own production company -Yes Norman Productions (named after her beloved dog) and is currently working on various projects including a TV series for HBO Max called the flight attendant and is the voice of Harley Quinn on the animated series.

One of the things I’m most inspired by in Kaley is her love and passion for animals. She devotes a huge amount of her time and resources advocating for animal rights, promoting animal adoption and has a whole slew of animals herself. If you’re an animal enthusiast you have to follow her on Instagram.

In today’s show we explore

  • Life after The Big Bang theory
  • How she has stayed so grounded and “normal” in show business
  • One of her most pivotal moments in life that nearly ended her acting career
  • The value of loyalty
  • Her passion for rescuing animals and being an animal advocate

With all that’s going on in the world I wanted to share with you a popular Taoist practice, that I really enjoy, called the inner smile meditation. It’s supposed to be very powerful for your health and immune system.

Taoist Master Montak Chia says “Sickness starts from negative emotions settling in the organs. The inner smile breaks this cycle. It removes the cause and symptoms of disharmony by transforming destructive emotions into positive energy.“

This meditation is simple to replicate on your own and I once you get the hang of it and you can make it as long or as short as you want

Why is doing mental practices at a time like this so valuable for your health and well being?

In a moment of time where a lot feels out of our control this is something you CAN do to help yourself.

Your body possesses the innate capacity to heal itself. And science has proven, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that the contents of our thoughts and emotions directly and immediately influence our biochemistry. And we can consciously influence and direct the body’s output of healthy chemical information through meditation and other mental techniques.

So, at the very least we are giving our mind, body and spirit a moment of rest and rejuvenation to counteract the added stress so we can really meet this moment with presence, calm and strength.

Debra Poneman is the founder and President of Yes to Success, Inc, an international seminar company dedicated to giving people the tools they need to live lives of profound happiness, unlimited success and prosperity, and deep and lasting fulfillment. Sounds amazing, right?!

Debra’s story began in the 70’s when she spent years studying at the feet of the greatest spiritual masters of the east — often in deep meditation for 10 – 12 hours a day and complete silence for weeks at a time. She then went on to teach meditation to thousands.

Since founding her company in the early 80's, Debra has been the catalyst for hundreds of thousands of people to wake up and recognize who they really are, why they were put here on earth - and how to fearlessly turn their dreams and visions into exciting and lasting realities.

In addition to delivering hundreds of keynotes and workshops for businesses, associations and professional organizations and appearing on media around the world, some of today's most renowned transformational leaders call Debra their mentor.

In 1988, with her Yes to Success book in the hands of a major New York publisher and about to launch her own daytime talk-show, Debra walked away from her career and disappeared from the public eye for over two decades when she realized she had a greater passion – to be a stay-at-home mom.

Now a best-selling author and award-winning keynote speaker, Debra is back to share how to create a life that is not only successful but is, in fact, miraculous.

In today’s show we discuss:

  • How to bring more prosperity into your life
  • How to create deep human connections
  • Why Debra decided to take a break at the peak of her career
  • What a near death experience revealed to her
  • And she even shares a couple great parenting tips at the end!
  • Plus much much more

You guys are going to love Debra. She has tons of wisdom to share. I highly recommend everyone goes to Debra’s website to get a copy of her FREE ebook entitled The 5 Secrets to Living a Life of True Success.

Brandy Gillmore, Ph.D., is a motivational speaker, author, and Mind/Body &Energy Expert.

Her expertise in self-healing originated from a devastating injury, where she found herself disabled, and in excruciating pain. She had to use a wheelchair, cane, or walker to get around and was on various forms of medications and morphine and yet still in extreme pain.

One doctor after another said there was nothing they could do for her and eventually Brandy became determined to find a solution on her own. After years of studying and looking for answers, her research eventually led to the power of the mind.

The answers she found were profound and life-changing and allowed Brandy to heal herself. Now she is out of her wheelchair, free of pain and physically stronger than ever!

Through this experience she came to the eye-opening awareness that we all have much more influence over our health than we realize. And she believes every single ailment has a link to the subconscious mind.

While going through her recovery, Brandy developed the ability to feel the emotions and energy that others are experiencing, which has allowed her to help others achieve their own healing results at record-breaking speeds.

Brandy says ”It’s been proven that the subconscious mind is the biggest factor in human behavior. Therefore, when we make changes to the mind for purposes of healing, the results are life-changing!”  She states: “When we rewire our thoughts, we transform our health and our lives.”

Brandy has developed quick and effective ways for changes to occur, including “G.E.T. Health” the “Gillmore Empowerment Technique” and “The 4 Mind-Body- Soul Keys For Transformation.”

She speaks all over the world and works with celebrities, politicians, professional athletes and others worldwide.

In today’s show we discuss:

  • Brandy’s personal journey of self-healing
  • How our emotions and our subconscious directly affect our health and body
  • Why Brandi believes there is more illness than ever before
  • How to program more happiness and positivity into your subconscious
  • And much much more…

I got to experience Brandy’s expertise first hand when was kind enough to do a session for me a few weeks after our interview and it was profound the information she could gather …Her insights were so specific and on point and this was all over the phone! I’m a believer in what she does and I’m so excited to share her with you guys today. Enjoy the show!

Our guest today is Bruce Lipton! Guys, I’m such a big fan of his… and was super excited to get to talk to him… I actually did this interview the day after I found out I was pregnant back in November so I snuck some pregnancy and parenting related questions in here…

First off – I have a question for you - have you ever read a self-help book - had all sorts of Ah-ha moments, gotten a ton out of it - only to actually apply very little of it into your life? It’s happened to me a million times.

Well did you know that your Subconscious mind – which cannot be taught in the same way as your conscious mind - dictates 95% of your behavior!

And sometimes the reason it’s difficult to make changes in your life is because the thing you are trying to change contradicts the subconscious programming that you received very early on. We talk a lot about this today and it’s profound…

But first more on Bruce…

Bruce H. Lipton, PhD is an internationally recognized leader in bridging science and spirit. Stem cell biologist, bestselling author of The Biology of Belief and recipient of the 2009 Goi Peace Award, he has been a guest speaker on hundreds of TV and radio shows, as well as keynote presenter for national and international conferences.

He’s best known for promoting the idea that gene expression can be influenced by environmental factors, in other words people have a greater impact on their health than genetic research has previously determined.

His discoveries have shown that a person’s perception, not genetic programming, is what spurs all action in the body: It’s actually our beliefs that select our genes, that then select our behavior.

Bruce says “Our consciousness is creating our life experiences. He says “That’s not a suggestion - this is the law of science. If you change your consciousness you change your life experiences.”

So the question becomes – how do we change our consciousness?? Well we cover that in today’s episode.

We also discuss:

  •  How all the cells of your body are affected by your thoughts.
  • The difference between the conscious and subconscious mind
  • how most of your subconscious programming was created in the first 7 years of your life
  • what we can do to create better programming for our children
  • How we can reprogram our subconscious mind
  • How you can change a belief you’ve had your whole life in 10 minutes!

Today our guest is a really special and beloved friend of mine – Sandi Stuart.

I met Sandi while I was studying IBP – or Integrative Body Psychotherapy – which I’ve talked about a variety of times on the show. Sandi was one of the teaching assistants for my class. So over the 3 years going through this program she was an incredible teacher and support system to me and I got to know her in such an intimate way. (Sadly this particular class is no longer offered- but there are many other resources I will provide in the show notes if you want to learn more about IBP)

Sandi has been a trailblazer for women. She was one of the first female sales executives in the men’s clothing business. She started her career as an outsider and worked her way up the ladder becoming the executive vice president at Bugle Boy Industries. During her 25-year career at Bugle Boy, she helped the company grow from $0 to $500 million annually. Now she is the co-founder of Agency Licensing and also works as a life coach and leads workshops. In addition to consulting on issues important to women in business, Sandi focuses on providing and sharing practical consciousness for women entrepreneurs.

Sandi is such a wise soul and someone who I deeply respect. She has so much insight to share. She has a thriving marriage, a great relationship with her daughter, a fulfilling and successful career and most importantly – a deep connection with herself.

Today we talk about Sandi’s personal journey of self-discovery and healing.

She shares:

  • How her trauma as a child manifested in her body as an adult
  • The connection between the body and our emotions
  • How she reconnected with her authenticity
  • Why she wore a baby carrier w no baby in it!
  • Her experience working in a male dominant industry
  • And much much more!

We recorded this interview at Sandi’s beautiful home in Malibu, overlooking the mountains and the ocean. It was such an intimate chat. I hope you enjoy!

As a Yoga Alliance Senior Teacher, NLP practitioner, Hypnobirthing teacher and Life Coach Sonia is passionate about sharing the potential of self-realization through yoga.

Sonia began her working career as a model. She had what many would consider to be a glamorous lifestyle but even after checking all the boxes “to be happy” Sonia found herself dissatisfied and empty. Yoga became the key to unlocking a much richer, more fulfilling, inner life.

Now, her yoga method has taken her all over the world, from teaching actors in Hollywood to Richard Branson on Necker Island.

Sonia is known for her unique style of Moving Energy Yoga. She believes yoga has the ability to transform difficult emotions, unlock deeply held tension in the body and open the heart.

I’ve always been active and into sports and exercise but nothing has transformed me, mentally, physically and spiritually like yoga has. We cover a lot of ground today and speak about many things besides yoga. However, I definitely wanted to touch on the power of yoga as it’s played such a huge role in my journey of self-discovery and I realized we haven’t spoken about it nearly enough on the show.

In this episode we discuss:

  • Sonia’s personal journey of self-discovery
  • How the breath effects our emotions
  • Why yoga is so transformational
  • The importance of practicing relaxation
  • How being a mother has healed her
  • How she brings mindfulness into parenting
  • And much much more!

Combining her innovative teachings over her 18 years in private practice, along with her master’s degree in spiritual psychology, suzi has mentored some of the most successful ministers, coaches and evolutionary leaders influencing our culture today and has been described as a ‘”teachers teacher” by the nationally renowned, spiritual leader Michael Bernard Beckwith (who is one of Oprah’s top 100 Spiritual Teachers of our time). You know I always have to get an Oprah reference in here if possible.

Suzi serves on the faculty of the University at The Agape International Center of Truth in Los Angeles, one of the fastest growing spiritual centers in the country with over a 10,000 person membership.

SIDENOTE: You guys I love Agape. It’s SUCH a special place. There’s an amazing sense of community and kinship. It feels like a spiritual safe haven. The founder Michael Bernard Beckwith is one of the most powerful speakers and leaders I have ever encountered. There’s great diversity amongst the members and as an added bonus they have amazing musical guests that come in (Van Morrison just showed up one night I was there to perform, nbd)

Back to Suzi… Known as a visionary leader, Suzi is also redefining motherhood. She challenges conventional thinking that says mothers must sacrifice and martyr themselves to be good mothers and instead, guides them to the realization that when they thrive, their children will flourish as well. She has an amazing book on this called The Motherhood Evolution.

Suzi is also a composer and an award-winning pianist just to add to her many accolades.

Thank you to Barnet Bain for connecting us!!

Harville Hendrix Ph.D. and Helen LaKelly Hunt Ph.D. are internationally-respected couple's therapists, educators, speakers, and New York Times bestselling authors. Together, they have written over 10 books with more than 4 million copies sold, including the timeless classic, Getting the Love You Want: A Guide for Couples. In addition Harville has appeared on Oprah 17 times! Anyone who knows me knows I’m obsessed with Oprah so I’m extremely envious of this.

Harville and Helen co-created Imago Relationship Therapy which is a form of relationship and couples therapy that focuses on relational counseling to transform any conflict between couples into opportunities for healing and growth.

They are the co-founders of Imago Relationships International, which is a non-profit organization that has trained over 2,000 therapists and educators in 51 countries around the world.

So these guys know their stuff.

However, marriage—even for marriage experts—isn’t always easy. Just like any other couple, Harville and Helen experienced a power struggle where they attempted to change, coerce, and threaten each other to be “more like me.” Sound familiar to anybody?

20 years ago, after a decade of marriage, they found themselves teetering on the brink of divorce. Ironically, it was their own teachings that made the biggest difference in turning their relationship around. And they now enjoy a true partnership that has lasted over 30 years and are happier than ever.

So in today’s episode they share not only their expertise through working with other couples but also from their own personal journey.

In today’s episode we discuss:

  • Why we choose our partners (this one is fascinating!)
  • How our childhood effects our relationship
  • The one thing they did that completely transformed their own relationship
  • Why we’re such bad listeners
  • How to re-romanticize your relationship
  • And much much more.

Dr. Brewer is the Director of Research and Innovation at the Center for Mindfulness at UMASS and associate professor in psychiatry at the School of Medicine at Brown University, as well as a research affiliate at MIT. So this guy has no shortage of credentials.

His TED talk “A simple way to break a bad habit”has been viewed over 10 million times.

And his book, “The Craving Mind: From Cigarettes to Smartphones to Love — Why We Get Hooked and How We Can Break Bad Habits,”explores how habits form, why they’re so hard to overcome, and the research that gives us hope they can be changed.

In your life – what types of behaviors do you reinforce?

It’s likely that the majority of us do not reinforce habits that lead awayfrom stress. Once we learn how to use our stress compass – which we’ll talk about later in the show – we may realize that we are actually looking for happiness in all the wrong places. Dr. Brewer helps steer us back in the right direction.

In today’s episode we explore:

  • How we develop habits – including addictions to our phones, social media, thinking and even love!
  • How we can reprogram our habits
  • The importance of mindfulness in this process
  • And much much more..

Jud is the real deal. He was so present and kind during the interview and I’m so excited to share this episode with you!

Do you suffer from stress or anxiety? Do you ever feel out of control of your life? Then this could be a good episode for you.

Today our guest is coming all the way from Sydney Australia! He is the founder of The Stillness Project and his name is Tom Cronin.

Tom believes the portal to reduce stress and access stillness and calm in our lives is meditation. As a meditation teacher for many years he has inspired thousands of people all over the world to unlock their brilliance and calm. But Tom’s journey to find Stillness has not always been easy.

At just 19, Tom started his career as a financial broker. If you guys have seen “The Wolf of Wallstreet” Tom says this is a pretty accurate portrayal of what his life was like back then.

He was living the work hard, play hard lifestyle… long, high stress hours at the office, followed by late, drug and alcohol induced nights entertaining clients. After a decade of this lifestyle Tom was suffering from various addictions, anxiety and depression, which eventually led to a nervous breakdown. (We talk all about this in the episode)

Doctors advised him to take medication but Tom didn’t believe that was the answer for him.

He found meditation and that is what finally helped him to bring balance and wellness back into his life.

Then in 2012, after 26 years in the finance industry and at the height of his career, Tom decided to walk away from his very lucrative job to fulfill what he believed to be his mission of spreading calm and stillness across the globe.

Determined to share the transformative power of meditation with others Tom started The Stillness Project.

The Stillness Project is a movement of change.

Using multiple streams - from films and online courses, to retreats, blogs, books, and personal mentoring,

his goal and the hope of The Stillness Project is to inspire 1 billion people to sit in Stillness daily to connect with their inner Being and transcend the barriers of separation. The hope is to encourage a movement of awakening on our planet.

And boy does our world need more humans who are connected to spread some love! So, thank you Tom!

In today’s episode we discuss:

-Tom’s personal transformation

-Why it took a nervous breakdown to finally change his life

-The dangers of stress

-How stress changes your physiology and biochemistry and effects our ability to LOVE

-Understanding the difference between the soul and the ego

-How stillness relieves anxiety and stress

-How we can replenish our mind, body and spirit

-The benefits of meditation

And much much more

One of my favorite parts about meditation is that it’s a way to help us remember who we really are, a way to reconnect with our truth- our authentic self - amidst the chaos and stress of the modern world. It gives our mind a moment to rest and it turns up the volume to the voice of our soul.

Often times we look outside for answers or validation only to be left feeling empty, confused and alone. What if all of the answers are within? What if all that you need is within? What if all that you are so desperately longing for the world to give you is within? When we look inward and find stillness we are reminded of our infinite power and connectivity with all that is.

To come from a place of authenticity is where we are our most powerful in life. What if our only mission in life was to be ourselves? To be our TRUE selves and to peel away all the false layers and barriers that prevent us from being ourselves. What would that look like? How would your priorities change? What would you do differently?

If meditation is a way to bring us closer to our authentic self, then I think it’s worth making time for! Don’t you?

Today we have mindfulness teacher, trainer and writer Christopher Dines with us. He is the author of six books and blogs for The Huff Post UK
I was absolutely fascinated by the topic of his most recent book called “The Kindness Habit” where he and his coauthor talk about how to transform our relationship to addictive behaviors.
And we’re not just talking about substance addiction here. In fact, Christopher says we all have addictive behaviors in some way -maybe its with our phone, the internet, shopping, social media, food, emotional behaviors, love, sex, or addiction in our relationships.
Christopher calls these things “false friends” or a false refuge - a place we go to get temporary relief from discomfort and to avoid what we’re feeling. So how do we transform our relationship with these self-abusive habits, connect to ourselves and find lasting inner strength?
In the book he says:
“An important first step in this process is to recognize that your ‘thing’ has served a useful purpose. It has been part of how you protect yourself, what you do to soothe, and quieten some inner turmoil.  A place to go to find some peace, without which you would not function well on a day-to-day basis. Like a friend. Your ‘thing’ has become like a friend. A place of refuge.”
