Boy oh boy are you all in for a treat today. Our guest is Darin Olien!

Darin is an absolute GEM. He is one of those people that carries this beautiful, charismatic, loving energy and it seems like he leads a magical life.

I was connected to Darin through my husband who absolutely loves him so before we even spoke I was a huge fan of all things Darin Olien and his MANY endeavors…

To name a few…

Darin is the co-host with Zac Efron on the super  popular Netflix show “Down to Earth” and host of the #1 Health & Wellness podcast The Darin Olien Show

He’s also a highly recognized exotic superfoods hunter, supplement formulator, and author of the New York Times bestselling book, “SuperLife.”

He worked with fitness-company Beachbody to formulate one of the top super food shakes in the US called, “Shakeology.”

He is one of the founders of Barukas™, a new super nut from the Savannah of Brazil. (Oh my gosh you guys Barukas are soooo good!) And through sustainable business practices the company is committed to supporting this important biome in Brazil by planting 20 million Baruzeita trees.

And early this year he launched a health APP called 121 Tribe created to help people learn about whole food, plant-based eating, habit tracking and exercise.

And most importantly he’s an unbelievably kind human.

In today’s episode we explore:

  • How his Netflix show “Down to Earth” changed his life
  • The impact of losing everything he owned to wildfires
  • How we can recapitulate our energy
  • The importance of vulnerability
  • How he stays connected to universal consciousness
  • Why “Down to Earth” would have been something totally different if it was up to him and why he’s glad it ended up like it did
  • And much much more

Darin has an infectious enthusiasm for life and he is truly inspiring. I guarantee this guy gets you fired up to make some changes in your life. I know you’re going to love every minute as much as I did.

KALEY CUOCO is on the show!!! Whaaattt???!!! Oh my gosh, I was so excited when she said she would come on the show.

I’m lucky enough to call Kaley a friend and I have to say she is one of the most loyal, kind-hearted and generous people I have ever met.

She really needs no introduction but Kaley, is an actor and producer. In the late 90’s, she landed her breakthrough role as Bridget Hennessy on the sitcom 8 Simple Rules but she is best known for playing Penny for 12 seasons on the mega-hit TV show The Big Bang Theory, which is the longest running sitcom in U.S. history.

Since Big Bang ended last year she started her own production company -Yes Norman Productions (named after her beloved dog) and is currently working on various projects including a TV series for HBO Max called the flight attendant and is the voice of Harley Quinn on the animated series.

One of the things I’m most inspired by in Kaley is her love and passion for animals. She devotes a huge amount of her time and resources advocating for animal rights, promoting animal adoption and has a whole slew of animals herself. If you’re an animal enthusiast you have to follow her on Instagram.

In today’s show we explore

  • Life after The Big Bang theory
  • How she has stayed so grounded and “normal” in show business
  • One of her most pivotal moments in life that nearly ended her acting career
  • The value of loyalty
  • Her passion for rescuing animals and being an animal advocate
  • What she believes her true purpose is
  • And much much more

Brooklyn Decker is a powerhouse. As a former model, actress, philanthropist, entrepreneur, mom of two and wife, she has no shortage of talent or drive.

As a model she graced the cover of Sports Illustrated in 2010.

As an actress she is currently playing Mallory on the hit Netflix series Grace and Frankie, which is the longest running show on Netflix.

In 2017 she added tech entrepreneur to her resume starting the company Finery, a brilliant app to help people manage their wardrobes, which she’s since sold.

And she is the loving mother of a 4-year-old son Hank and a 2-year-old daughter Stevie.

As a philanthropist she is passionate about so many causes and is constantly giving back.

During this pandemic she has been giving out gift certificates to help feed people, supporting and promoting small businesses and the Andy Roddick Foundation is raising money through its Family Emergency Fund https://www.arfoundation.org/family-emergency-fund to support families in need in Austin, Texas.

She’s hilarious, down to earth and a genuinely compassionate person. As a new mom myself, I’m even more amazed by how she manages to fit so much onto her plate with two kids.

How does she do it??

In today’s episode we chat about…

  • Life during the quarantine
  • Challenges and fears that come up being a parent during this pandemic
  • Brook’s journey in her professional career
  • What it’s like working alongside icons like Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin
  • What it looks like being a working mom
  • How being a parent has changed her
  • And much much more

Hope you guys enjoy being a fly on the wall for this convo :) it was truly cathartic for me. Thanks Brook! Enjoy the show.

With all that’s going on in the world I wanted to share with you a popular Taoist practice, that I really enjoy, called the inner smile meditation. It’s supposed to be very powerful for your health and immune system.

Taoist Master Montak Chia says “Sickness starts from negative emotions settling in the organs. The inner smile breaks this cycle. It removes the cause and symptoms of disharmony by transforming destructive emotions into positive energy.“

This meditation is simple to replicate on your own and I once you get the hang of it and you can make it as long or as short as you want

Why is doing mental practices at a time like this so valuable for your health and well being?

In a moment of time where a lot feels out of our control this is something you CAN do to help yourself.

Your body possesses the innate capacity to heal itself. And science has proven, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that the contents of our thoughts and emotions directly and immediately influence our biochemistry. And we can consciously influence and direct the body’s output of healthy chemical information through meditation and other mental techniques.

So, at the very least we are giving our mind, body and spirit a moment of rest and rejuvenation to counteract the added stress so we can really meet this moment with presence, calm and strength.
